PRIVACY!

I get pretty mad at the idea that there is the possibility that some company out there is making money by selling information about me and my browsing habits for large amounts of money. I also get mad that Comcast and other companies have started to track people’s usage through a program called “Sandvine”.  I think these things are intrusive and just plain wrong. So I use programs for anonymity. Free programs. Easy to use programs.

Peerguardian: http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/This program blocks almost everything that is hitting you that you don’t want. It displays all ip’s that are hitting you and display’s blocked hits as well!

Tor: http://www.torproject.org/download.html.enThis program is actually to assist you by rerouting all your outbound webpage requests through many other nodes. This also comes with a program called privoxy which is an easy to use program that uses proxies. You maintain anonymity through confusion. Freakin sweet.

And of course, use your built in windows firewall and configure it appropriatly.
