Getting back to the basics in music is hard to do. When you cut out the label and everything that comes with it, all that’s left is an independent artist and hopefully a recording studio or at least a makeshift one in a bathroom or closet. My favorite. You mean there is still artistic freedom in the world? Yes, with technology comes freedom of distribution. To think that free albums all started with Harvey Danger distributing “Little by Little” for free on P2P. Of course this tactic was made popular by Radiohead’s “In Rainbows”. Making money on popularity and live shows, now there is a concept.
This page celebrates not only different and original music but it also has downloads to the albums described. It gets two thumbs up from me and I applaud the courageous effort. Although not all artists featured are independent artists, they all seem to be astoundingly original and fresh. Anyway… Enough rambling from me. I just love what I have stumbled upon.

Talking Dog
Finally I will get to understand what Blaze is saying when he tries to talk. I mean I’m sure it will be far from accurate if not a complete gimmick but one can hope. Shoot if it were to tell me, “Hey guy throw my fuckin’ toy please”. I would say mission accomplished.

USB devices have gotten out of control. There is just a plethora of useless devices out there that have no practical use at all. Here is my top ten of these devices.

The iSaw - ...WTF. Seriously? Is there an office lumberjack that needs one of these?

USB Humidifier- Some rich fratboy was all, "What do nerds need... HUMIDIFIERS!"... Usually water and electronics don't mix well.

USB Posture Detector - This thing will tell you if you are bending over to look at your monitor... I think I would be the first to know if I was bending over to read some fine print. I dont need a blinking light to tell me that. And really why would you?

It's a humping dog... I don't know what else to say. It humps your USB port. That's it.

USB powered heated mittens -Really? Rly? C'mon! Just look at em! A Canadian is responsible for this. I can feel it.

USB Golf Ball Retriever - This thing is ridiculous. If someone can make money off this then I have a chance at being rich. This device makes me feel better about any idea (NO MATTER HOW BAD) that I will ever have.

Crystallized USB Mouse - This isn't necessarily useless... But it kinda pisses me off. Someone bedazzled the cheapest mouse you can buy and is making around $40 each.

USB mini-Vacuum - I would understand it if this had different attachments to get into all the nooks and crannies. But it doesn't.

Ghost Radar - Seriously this doesn't DO anything except light up. Its supposed to be a visual representation of the ghosts that are near your desk.

USB Fondue Kit - Do you have an assortment of raw meat, vegetables, or fruit at your desk that need to be cooked? I don't.

Freakin awesome. Google has come up with a great idea. Stick Chrome on a linux kernel. This will make for an ultra lean netbook OS that is perfect for browsing. Possibly the ultimate netbook OS. Because with a netbook really all you need is optimized web browsing. Lean, mean, and to the point. Just like a netbook should be.

This is the perfect media player. It will not only play ANYTHING… but it will also play ANYTHING! Partial files? It will play them. Corrupted files? It will play those as well. This program is awesome and free as it should be. It has finally hit its first fully stable release and it is no doubt the best media player ever.

A huge problem that alot of people face is sending huge files via email. Maybe you want to send pictures to someone or some music… Well now you can send full picture albums. This site works so well you can even send movies! You don’t even need to register for an account. There is a 2gb limit for the no sign-up free account. And it’s reliable.

Windows 7 is AWESOME! I have messed around with it pre 7100 on a 6 year old thinkpad and it rocked. I read a story about a guy who got it to run on a pentium 2 which is rediculous. I installed it on a piece of crap acer and it made it decent. And now Microsoft is talking about releasing their new OS on a usb stick for all of us netbook users!! I have an acer aspire one with an ssd and I for one would seriously appreciate something like this. I might actually legally buy this. HAHA… seriously though I might.

This is a guide for fixing a broken or malfunctioning lcd. Of course this wont work if you have a gigantic crack down the screen. But it works and it’s clever as fuck. Enjoy saving money.

And the site also features an overhead LCD projector guide. Yes, turning a school projector into an HDProjector.
